How to become Catholic?
“A person who wishes to become Catholic must know and profess the Catholic faith, i.e. everything that the Catholic Church teaches and professes as Truth revealed by God.
When a person has found in their heart that their desire is to become Catholic, they must receive Baptism, if they have not previously been baptized in some other church.
If a person has been baptized previously, then through recognizing the faith they enter the Church by giving witness to their faith and by receiving the Sacrament of the Eucharist, in which bread and wine, through consecration, have become the Body and Blood of Christ.
For both the Baptism of children and an adult’s desire to become Catholic, one should first of all contact a Catholic priest in the nearest parish.
Usually a person must participate in a catechesis course, or in the case of young people, in the parish Sunday school.
In the case of small children (up to the age of 7), parents request the child’s baptism from the Church.
