Pope’s prayer intention for December 2025

Pope’s prayer intention for December: “For Christians living in conflict areas”.

Pope Leo XIV published his prayer intention for December and calls Catholics  to pray that Christians living amid war may be seeds of peace in the world.

“Let us pray that Christians living in war- or conflict-affected areas, especially in the Middle East, may be seeds of peace, reconciliation and hope,” he said. Pope Leo XIV urged all Christians to pray that we would never remain indifferent to the suffering of other Christians, but rather be builders of unity. Even where instability prevails in the Middle East, Christian communities continue to safeguard the faith, serve the poor and cooperate with people of other churches and religions to build bridges of coexistence. With unwavering faith, Christian communities even amid the rubble come back to life after recent wars and offer charitable and spiritual support to others.

Let us respond to the Pope’s invitation to pray for Christians who live in various conflict and war zones around the world. Let us pray that the source of hope may rise even in the most “darkest” conflict sites in the world.
